Soap Soldiers by Jessica Singleton

Wisdom is actually the ability to think for yourself and to question the idea of what is told to you. If you think, then you're as wise as anyone else. They may be a little more educated but you are still wise. People think that if you question anything then you are stubborn or ignorant . That is not accurate because scientists and philosophers question everything.
If they had never said why- then there would be no cure for anything .

Anne was a short woman. Most believe that if you feed your bones that you will grow and enlarge your bones. That is not true for Anne. She never gained weight or grew after the age of 14.
In her late 30's Anne lost a lot of weight. She remained thin for the rest of her life. Anne lived until the age of 98 years with no health problems or setbacks.

But Anne took care of her older brother Cells until he died.

This is the story of cells.

Anne received a check from the state every month. She got ssi because she was half blind and she suffered from seizures.
Anne lived on her own in a tiny house.
One day Anne received a phone call about her brother. Anne had a half brother who was of no blood relation to her but she was the only family he had. Anne 's brother was handicapped by insanity. He literally needed to be observed 24-7. The state gave him a check to live on but he could not afford to be on his own. He could bathe himself and go to the bathroom but he was insane and he lived in a world outside our own.
Anne was not afraid of her brother. She was an avid reader of science fiction alternate universe stories. So she thought he was great.
She was alone in the world and the idea of any family sounded amazing to her.
Cell was her brothers name. He took the spare room in the back of the house.
Cell would stare at the wall and he would report the weather or sporting events to his imaginary friend.
Cell had two different personal items to his name.
1. A stuffed bear
2. A baseball card from the 1970's that he carried around in his wallet.

Cell's wallet had a state ID card and his insurance card.

Cell slept with the stuffed bear like a child.

The only time cell moved off his bed was when he had to pee or eat.

Cell referred to bars of soap as soldiers.

Cell would not let anyone touch him.

Cell did not respond to questions or conversations.

It took him a month to adjust to Anne before he would make eye contact and smile at her.

One day at the dinner table-
Anne had one of her seizures. It was mild but cell thought Anne was dancing.

So from that moment on cell referred to Anne as ballerina.

One day Anne was watching a daytime talk show and the mailman came to deliver the mail.

Cell had never been off his bed long enough to witness the mailman doing his job.

Cell watched the mailman putting mail into the slot box that hung from the house.
Cell screamed at the mailman through the window-

" We are republican. We voted already. Don't you put in a different vote. Re public C....a...n!  You damn commi spy! "

Anne turned around and she got cell to walk away.
But Anne did not go outside to talk to the mailman.

Three hours later the view was on. Cell sat on the couch and he watched parts of the show.

The next day when the mailman was shifting in his bag to get the mail out-
Cell marched outside the house and he started to yell at the mailman.

" You idiot. I told you what would happen if you voted democratic. You insist on tampering with cereal evidence. Now because of you- the two headed beast is talking for an hour every day. I don't want to hear that nonsense. The Oval Office is a fucking table for wigs and squawking vultures. It's your fault. You did this to our flag. You are an asshole. The whole country depends on you.

The mailman acted like he was scared.
He put the mail into the box and he walked away.

Anne received knock at her door from the police. The police said that the mailman reported that a crazed man stormed out of her house and proceeded to cuss out and threaten the mailman.
Anne explained what happened the day in question.
Then she explained that cell never made a threat to anyone.
The police understood and they stopped questioning cell.
He actually did not threaten anyone.

Anne knew that cell could not do anything like that again.

Cell was a man and when he yelled it was from an adult.

Not the child inside.

People don't understand anything that they are not accustomed to naturally.

Anne looked into her fathers estate. There was a lot of money left to her alone.
So she got her money back permanently.

She got her eyesight fixed. She moved to a better place.

And she found a place for cell where he would be happy. And cell was better off.
He was finally happy.
Some people have a hard time seeing the less fortunate evolve because they are racist towards anything that doesn't give them a hand job.
Their pathetic life never made it past an escalator. They feel poor inside because no matter how much they bend over- they are still not the king of the world- like Hollywood whores.
Well facts are facts and blind doesn't make you a piece of social wreckage.
So Anne did not need a keeper.
Anne's life was not covered up and forgotten because some bar of soap for brains from California was jealous.
The End
